Dusty Pyne

At age 16, Dusty Pyne started what would become a lifelong career with Chick-fil-A in North Carolina. Eight years later, he signed his first franchise agreement and operated the Chick-fil-A at Northshore Mall in Peabody, Massachusetts, at age 24. Dusty gave up that location to open up the American Fork franchise in 2010 — then added to Utah Valley eating “mor chikin” in 2017 with the Lehi location. In the Chick-fil-A world, it is a big deal to operate more than one location, and Dusty has won several awards for sales throughout the years. And Cow Appreciation Day? The American Fork location was always the No. 1 restaurant in the nation for food given away. Dusty is actively involved in serving the community — helping with school fundraisers, donating food for funeral lunches and making Utah Valley a better place.

Dealer’s Choice I love to develop my leaders under me. I enjoy swinging by the restaurants to say hi to the team and guests. I get too many texts, chats and emails to count. It takes a lot to run a multi-restaurant operation, but I have a good team that allows me to be flexible with my time. I still eat Chick-fil-A almost every day.

The Flop One of the best surprises of my life was when I won a trip to the Super Bowl. Added bonus, Shakira and J Lo were the halftime show.

Shuffle the Cards After my church mission, I was working at another job in college when I got engaged to my wife. I went to my manager where I was working and said that I was getting married, I’ve been a good employee, and asked what opportunities were there for growth in that business.  He looked me straight in the eye and told me I was in a “dead-end job.” That night I went back to Chick-fil-A.

The 2025 Deck This year I’d love to do a WWII tour of Eastern Europe.

Preferred Playing Parter I love playing games with my kids. I kinda like them.

Ace Up your Sleeve I sing. (Dusty is also involved in community theater!)

Ace Eats Obvious answer! Chick-fil-A. Breakfast is my favorite right now. Egg white grill, add bacon.
