While raising three young kids and with only $300 cash for the business, Melanie started One Loved Babe out of her home almost 10 years ago. Flash forward, and One Loved Babe now employs over 50 women, has three brick-and-mortar locations (two of which opened their doors in 2024), and has been ranked by Buzzfeed as a top online store for women’s clothing. Melanie left the comfort zone for the dressing room — and is making fashionistas out of all the loved babes. Women in business are so in style.
Dealer’s Choice I always start my day off at the gym. Our boys are both in club soccer, they play on two or three different basketball teams, tackle football and flag football, and take piano and voice lessons. Now, they want to play baseball on top of everything else! Our 3-year-old daughter is in preschool, soccer and dance. We are constantly running around, so we have to fit work in between all of this. We get a lot of our work done once the kids are in bed. It’s non-stop every day.
Shuffle the Cards The biggest turning point I’ve experienced in my life was when I decided to step outside my comfort zone by starting One Loved Babe. Starting a business is scary. Putting yourself out there on social media is scary. If I wouldn’t have stepped outside my comfort zone, I wouldn’t be where I’m at today, and I feel very grateful for that.

Ace Up Your Sleeve I love to bake — sourdough, rolls, biscuits, cookies, etc. Baking is a stress reliever for me!
The 2025 Deck This year is all about my personal health. I’ve recently had a prophylactic double mastectomy, so my bucket list item would be to heal from the three surgeries, so I don’t have to worry about breast cancer.

Tomorrow’s Bets I would love to have two or three more One Loved Babe stores and expand outside of Utah.
